Co-host of ‘The View’ triggers Matthew McConaughey, his reply is very unexpected
Matthew McConaughey, a strong advocate for “responsible gun ownership,” recently confronted Joy Behar on The View regarding gun laws in Texas. This discussion followed the tragic shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, where McConaughey grew up.
After the May 2022 incident, where 19 students and two teachers were killed, McConaughey emphasized the need for responsible gun ownership, including background checks and raising the minimum age for purchasing an AR-15 to 21. He stated, “Responsible gun owners are fed up with the Second Amendment being abused by deranged individuals.”
In the fall of 2023, while promoting his children’s book Just Because, McConaughey participated in a foot massage with Behar and discussed his views on gun violence. When asked about a potential future in politics, he replied that he would consider it if he felt he could be most useful, but currently, he prioritizes being a father.
