George W. Bush welcomes grandson named in honor of great-grandfathers
George W. Bush is celebrating the arrival of his new grandson! The former president, 78, announced the birth of Edward Finn Coyne on social media, sharing a heartfelt photo of his daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush, and her husband, Craig, with their newborn. Edward was born on August 4, joining his 2-year-old sister, Cora Georgia.
In his Instagram post, Bush expressed pride in being a grandparent again and noted that Edward is named in honor of his great-grandfathers. The joyful news was first shared by Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, who expressed her excitement about becoming an aunt.
Photos from Jenna show the family’s happiness, including one where she is feeding Edward. Notably, Edward wore a hat from NYU Langone Health, suggesting that Barbara may have given birth at the prestigious New York City hospital.
This is not the first time George and Laura Bush have celebrated grandparenthood; they previously announced the birth of Cora in 2021 with similar joy.
