Mother: “Here’s why I’m sharing my daughter’s last moments on Facebook”
When Zoey was just three years old, she was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and aggressive brain tumor. Previously a lively child, her diagnosis turned her family’s world upside down. After noticing troubling symptoms, her parents rushed her to the hospital, where they received the devastating news.
Despite the grim prognosis, Zoey’s family remained strong for her, undergoing various treatments, including radiation therapy in Germany. However, her condition worsened, and on July 4, 2018, Zoey peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by love.
In her final moments, the family shared joyful times together, singing Disney songs and watching movies. Her mother, Casey, decided to share their last moments on Facebook to highlight the beauty amid the pain.
The family now runs a Facebook page, Zoey’s Light, aiming to spread hope and inspire others to love and support each other. They remember Zoey’s spirit and the joy she brought into their lives, encouraging others to cherish every ordinary day.
