Rubio calls out Democrats for ‘clearly’ influencing second would-be Trump assassin with incendiary rhetoric

Sen. Marco Rubio criticized Hillary Clinton for her claim that former President Trump is a “danger to our country and the world,” following a second apparent assassination attempt on him. Rubio argued that such rhetoric can incite extreme reactions from individuals, leading some to feel justified in taking violent actions against Trump.
Referring to suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly pointed a rifle at Trump, Rubio emphasized the need to investigate how Routh gained access to Trump and the influence of anti-Trump rhetoric on his actions. Clinton had previously accused Trump of inciting violence and called for a more calming leadership approach.
Other Democrats, including President Biden and Vice President Harris, echoed similar concerns about Trump posing a threat to democracy. Trump responded by blaming the incendiary rhetoric from Democratic leaders for motivating individuals like Routh. This marks the second threat to Trump’s life in recent months, following an earlier shooting incident at a rally in Pennsylvania.
