Meet “the world’s most beautiful” horse, which has a golden look.

Horses are remarkable creatures, and the Akhal-Teke breed stands out as one of the most majestic. With only about 3,500 remaining, these horses are direct descendants of the now-extinct Turkoman horse. Known for their stunning golden coats that shimmer in the sunlight, the Akhal-Teke is often called “the horse from heaven” in China. This unique sheen is due to the structure of their fur, which reflects light, giving them a golden glow.

Originating around 3,000 years ago in Turkmenistan, the Akhal-Teke is the oldest known domesticated breed, originally bred for its ability to blend into the desert landscape. Standing 58 to 64 inches tall, these horses are revered for their beauty and history.
