Visitor Has Close Call with Polar Bear at Berlin Zoo
A woman entered the polar bear enclosure at Berlin Zoo, ignoring warning signs and barriers. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic when one of the 1,000-pound bears charged at her. Zoo officials quickly evacuated the area and, following safety protocols, zookeepers distracted the bear with food and loud noises, allowing the woman to escape.
Though injured, the woman was treated on-site for minor scrapes and bruises and later transported to a hospital where she is expected to fully recover. Authorities are investigating her motives for entering the enclosure, with some speculating mental health issues. She faces charges of trespassing and endangering the animal.
