New Poll Gives Kari Lake Edge In Competitive Ariz. Senate Race
Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has taken a slight lead over Rep. Ruben Gallego in the latest poll. An AtlasIntel survey from October 30-31 shows Lake at 48.6%, just ahead of Gallego’s 47.9%. This marks a shift from their October 29 poll, which had them tied. Gallego had maintained a consistent lead in earlier polls, including a Rasmussen Reports survey showing him up by 4 points and a CNN poll showing him leading by 8 points.
Despite the recent poll shift, Gallego still holds a 3.9-point lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average as of October 31. The race remains tight, with some surveys, like Data Orbital’s, showing near parity between the candidates.
Lake’s Senate campaign also gained attention following a court ruling that revealed sealed divorce records of Gallego from his ex-wife, Kate Gallego. The court battle, which led to the release of documents, highlighted personal details about their split, including issues over spousal maintenance and legal costs. The divorce was finalized in April 2017.
In the same poll, former President Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris by 4.2 points in Arizona, with Trump also slightly ahead among independents.
