Inside Lynnewood Hall, an Abandoned Mansion With Ties to the Titanic

The estimated value of the abandoned Lynnewood Hall mansion in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, is $256 million, and it has ties to the Titanic. Leland Kent, who runs the blog Abandoned Southeast, has been fascinated by this historic property for years.

Kent explored Lynnewood Hall for two days and discovered its tragic history linked to the Widener family, whose members George and Harry died on the Titanic. Built between 1898 and 1900 at a cost of around $8 million, the mansion has been owned by a Korean church since 1996. However, the church struggled to maintain it and eventually vacated the property.

Despite receiving offers above the asking price, the church refused to sell. Today, Lynnewood Hall remains vacant and privately owned, and many hope it will be restored to its former glory.
