Married World Champion skaters killed in DC plane crash

A tragic plane crash in Washington, D.C., involving a passenger jet and a U.S. Army helicopter has left no survivors. Authorities confirmed that 28 bodies have been recovered, including 27 from the plane and one from the helicopter.

The crash occurred near Reagan National Airport, with both aircraft crashing into the Potomac River after a midair collision. The commercial flight, carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, included skaters, coaches, and family members returning from a national championship camp.

Among the victims were renowned Russian figure skating coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, who had been part of the U.S. skating community for years. Their son, Maxim Naumov, a competitive skater, was reportedly also on board. The tragic loss has deeply impacted the figure skating world, with many expressing their sorrow for the victims, including two young skaters, Jinna Han and Spencer Lane, who were also killed. The figure skating community has been left heartbroken, with tributes pouring in for the victims.
