With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a sweet angel

The parents of three-year-old Ryleigh Hillcoat-Bee, who died from a rare condition called rhabdomyolysis, are devastated after learning that her life could have been saved. Ryleigh was discharged from the hospital after five days, despite showing “red flags” for a neuromuscular issue. Doctors missed signs of her deteriorating condition, including unusually high levels of Creatine Kinase in her blood, which suggested a muscle problem.

Coroner Alan Wilson confirmed that the hospital failed to seek specialist advice, which could have led to an early diagnosis and treatment for rhabdomyolysis. Tragically, Ryleigh passed away three months later. Her family is now seeking justice for the medical oversight that led to their loss.

Our hearts go out to Ryleigh’s family. May she rest in peace.
