Co-host of ‘The View’ triggers Matthew McConaughey, his reply is very unexpected
Matthew McConaughey, an advocate for “responsible gun ownership,” had a tense exchange with Joy Behar on The View while promoting his children’s book Just Because. Behar questioned his stance on guns, asking if he could be elected in Texas as “anti-gun.” McConaughey clarified, “I’m not interested in playing that game,” emphasizing his focus on family.
Co-host Sunny Hostin praised his outspoken nature against gun violence, and McConaughey reiterated the need for responsible gun laws, such as background checks and raising the minimum age to purchase AR-15 rifles to 21. Following the tragic Uvalde shooting, he attended a White House briefing advocating for practical regulations to prevent gun abuse.
McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, launched the Greenlights Grant Initiative to create safer school environments for their three children: Levi, 15, Vida, 13, and Livingston, 10.
