A Dollar General Store Faces Unprecedented Closure as Staff Quits
A Dollar General store in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, temporarily closed after all its staff quit due to challenging working conditions. General Manager Trina Tribolet noted that employees felt “overworked and underpaid,” leading to burnout. Prioritizing their well-being, the staff left despite their dedication to customers.
The store reopened within three hours with new employees. A Dollar General spokesperson highlighted the company’s commitment to a positive work environment.
Tribolet and her former colleagues were also frustrated with the store’s food donation policy, which resulted in waste of items close to expiration that could have helped families in need. This situation underscores the need for better employee conditions and waste management practices.
