Leakers of ICE Ops Identified, Fired!
Unknown federal employees have leaked information about deportation raids over the past month, putting law enforcement lives at risk. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the leakers have been identified and will be fired.
Noem emphasized that these leaks endanger law enforcement officers, as the raids were disrupted after details were made public. The DHS has used various tactics, including polygraph tests and email reviews, to track down the sources.
The leaks impacted ICE operations, including a raid in Chicago and one targeting the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua in Aurora, Colorado, where only one suspect was apprehended. Leaks also affected ICE actions in Los Angeles related to the MS-13 gang. Noem and former ICE chief Tom Homan speculated that corrupt FBI agents might be involved.
The Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation, and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi vowed that those responsible would face prosecution, losing their jobs, pensions, and potentially facing jail time.
Lora Ries from The Heritage Foundation argued that those leaking raid information should be prosecuted, as they are obstructing federal proceedings. She called for severe consequences, including criminal charges, revocation of security clearances, and a ban on future government employment.
