Growing up, Queen Camilla was “frightened” of her grandkids

Queen Camilla has taken on a larger role in the monarchy since King Charles’ health issues, with her life and responsibilities dramatically changing. Despite these challenges, she remains devoted to her grandchildren and cherishes her family time.

She has five biological grandchildren through her children, Laura Lopes and Tom Parker Bowles, and also embraces her role as a step-grandmother to the king’s grandchildren, including Prince William’s children, though her involvement with them is more reserved.

Camilla has built close relationships with her grandchildren, often engaging in fun activities like playing Wordle with her granddaughter Lola. However, she has noted the bittersweet experience of watching them grow up, with the girls becoming more interested in fashion and makeup.

She also respects the boundaries set by Prince William, who has made it clear that she is not a “step-grandmother” to his children, though she loves them as a bonus family member.

Despite the challenges she faced as a stepmother to Prince William and Prince Harry, Camilla’s bond with them has evolved over time.

She has worked hard to be supportive and affectionate, and though she isn’t their biological grandmother, she maintains a strong presence in their lives. Camilla’s approach to her royal role and family dynamics shows her commitment to both her personal relationships and her duties as queen.
