Warm Chicken and Dumplings Soup
Enjoy a cozy bowl of chicken and dumplings soup on a rainy day. It will warm you up and make you feel good with every bite!
Cooking Instructions:
List of components:
2 cups of chicken, pulled apart into small pieces.
1 onion, chopped into small pieces
2 big carrots, cut into slices.
2 pieces of celery, cut into small pieces
4 cups of chicken broth
1 measure of milk
1/4 cup of thick cream (if desired)
Half a teaspoon of dried thyme.
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Add salt as needed.
2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter
1 tablespoon of chopped parsley for decoration.
Dumplings:
1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
Half a teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of melted butter or olive oil
Instructions:
Get ready the foundation.
In a big pot, warm up olive oil or butter on medium heat. Cook onions, carrots, and celery in a pan until they are soft (5-7 minutes).
Include chopped chicken, chicken soup, milk, and thyme. Heat gently until it starts to simmer.
Prepare the dumplings.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix the milk and melted butter until a soft dough is formed.
Make the dumplings.
Using a spoon, put small amounts of dough into the hot soup. Put a lid on the pot and allow the dumplings to cook for 12-15 minutes, or until they are fluffy.
Complete and serve.
Add heavy cream if you have it and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley, serve while hot, and savor the tasty comfort!
