Prince Harry opens up about his upbringing as a royalty
The British Royal Family is one of the world’s most famous, but for Prince Harry, being part of it has been challenging. He shared his struggles in a revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey after stepping down from royal duties with Meghan Markle, which upset his family. Harry described feeling trapped within the royal system until he met Meghan, expressing compassion for his father and brother, who he believes are also trapped.
In a podcast with Dax Shepherd, Harry likened his life to “The Truman Show,” saying he felt cast in a role without consent. He discussed how his mother, Princess Diana, tried to give him and William a normal childhood, contrasting this with his father’s upbringing. Now living in the U.S., Harry appreciates his freedom, like riding bikes with his son Archie without media scrutiny. He emphasizes the importance of mental health and breaking the cycle of familial suffering, calling it “genetic pain.”
Since leaving royal duties, Harry has returned to Britain only a few times for significant family events, focusing on his life with Meghan and their children.
