Tragic News…with heavy hearts.. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ icon passed away today.
Len Goodman, beloved judge from “Dancing With the Stars,” passed away at 78 on Saturday in a Kent hospice after a long battle with bone cancer. Surrounded by family, Goodman had a significant impact on the dance world, starting his career at 19 before transitioning to television.
He was the head judge on the UK’s “Strictly Come Dancing” from its inception in 2004 until 2016, where he became a beloved figure. BBC director-general Tim Davie praised him as a “wonderful, warm entertainer” who made viewers feel like family.
Bruno Tonioli, a fellow judge, shared a heartfelt tribute, remembering their 19 years together and calling Goodman a “ballroom LEGEND.” Outside of TV, Goodman founded the Goodman Dance Academy and authored several books, including his autobiography, “Better Late Than Never.”
