Teenage girl dies of cancer – when her mom looks at her coffin, her heart is filled with warmth

Laura Hillier from Ontario, Canada, was diagnosed with leukemia at thirteen. After intensive treatment, she was declared cancer-free, but the disease returned four years later. Tragically, she lost her battle on January 20, 2016.
Her family shared the heartbreaking news on a dedicated Facebook page, praising her bravery and spirit. A beloved student at Nelson High School, Laura touched many lives. In a heartfelt farewell, her friends covered her casket with notes expressing love and gratitude, hoping to honor her memory.
Messages from classmates, teachers, family, and even hospital staff reflected her impact: “You were my bestest friend” and “You will always be a hero.” Laura’s favorite color, purple, was prominently displayed at her service, showcasing the community’s love and support.
