After Pulling a String in an Attic, A man revealed a mystery that had been hidden for nearly 70 years
Over the years, many stories of hidden treasures have emerged. One man, Schlattner, returned to his childhood home to search for family property that his father had concealed before they were forced to leave the country. He had learned how to find hidden objects from his father, but he was unsure if anything would still be intact after seventy years.
Fortunately, he discovered seventy well-preserved packages in the attic, hidden behind a small cord on a wooden panel. As he opened the shelves, he found a treasure trove of items from decades ago, including newspapers, paintings, skis, school desks, unopened cigarettes, and more—all in working condition.
These treasures are now housed in a museum in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic, due to their historical significance. The museum director noted it’s rare to find such a concealed “German property” in the area. Although Schlattner couldn’t keep the items, he expressed his hope of one day returning to find the property intact. If you found this story of treasure recovery fascinating, please SHARE!
